AND SO IT BEGINS

The first area meeting of Devon Golf took place at Thurlestone Golf Club on Thursday, 19th April. Traditionally, for lady golfers in Devon, spring is when each area has a Pre-Delegates' Meeting (snappy title - we will definitely change that!). But it's not just about lady golfers any more - it's about all golfers in Devon. And, da da daaa! We had a man at the meeting! Welcome Dan Barter from Wrangaton who is leading the way for the entire male golfing population in Devon. The meeting was an opportunity for clubs in the West - Bigbury, Thurlestone, Boringdon Park, Wrangaton, Staddon Heights, Yelverton and Tavistock - to get together and chat about anything golf. Wendy Stanbury, Development Director for Devon Golf, came to update everyone on the progress of DevonGolf and the way forward. 

There are further meetings at East Devon and Churston and it is hoped that more men will be there - DevonGolf working for Devon golfers.
