English Senior Women's Championship - 15-19th May 2017

Jo Shorrocks (Bigbury) having finished in 8th place, 4 shots off the lead, after the stroke play qualifying beat Diane Oram (Basingstoke GC) by 2 holes in the round of 32.  Jo had a convincing win 4&2 this morning against Nicola Tebbutt (Carlisle GC) in the last 16.  She knew she had a tough quarter final this afternoon as she was up against top seed Caroline Berry (Bromborough).  It was a well fought match and it took a birdie from Caroline on the 18th to secure a win by 2 holes.  Many congratulations to Jo on her performance in the English Senior Women`s Championship this week.

Stage One: Stroke Play
Monday 15th & Tuesday 16th - 36 holes stroke play played over 2 days. 

Stage Two: Match Play
Wendy Taylor Salver (Flight 1) - The players with the 32 lowest scores after the stroke play rounds shall qualify for the Championship Match Flight. 

Ann Howard Trophy (Flight 2) - The players with the 16 lowest scores after the stroke play rounds, who are over the age of 60 on the first day of the Championship. (Players over the age of 60 on the first day of the Championship will be eligible to enter either Flight 1 or Flight 2 of the match play stages. These players MUSTregister which Flight they wish to compete within upon registration. No changes will be allowed after registration). The match play stages of the competition will take place over Wednesday 17–Friday 19:

Wednesday 17: Flight 1 (Top 32) - Flight 2 (Top 16)

Thursday 18: Flight 1 (Top 16 am & Top 8 pm) - Flight 2 (Top 8 am & Semi Finals pm)

Friday 19: Flight 1 (Semi Finals am & Finals pm) - Flight 2 (Finals am)
